The Peoples’s Voice Uganda
Since 2012, communities of People living with HIV (PLHIV), Key and Vulnerable
Populations (KVPs) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), under the leadership of
the International Community of Women Living with HIV Eastern Africa (ICWEA), the
Coalition for Health Promotion and Social Development (HEPS-Uganda) and Sexual
Minorities Uganda (SMUG) in collaboration with global partners including Health GAP
and AVAC have been monitoring and informing PEPFAR Country Operational Planning
(COP) processes.

UKPC Core Team and Steering Committee Meeting Report
On Thursday, 10 September, Uganda Key Populations Consortium (UKPC) held a national meeting that attracted
leaders from the Key Population communities under the consortium as well as partners. The meeting was aimed at
bringing the consortium up to date with what the platform has been doing, planned activities as well as setting
priorities for the consortium. The meeting was hosted by Sexual Minorities Uganda at the Hilton Garden Inn,
Kamwokya Kampala.
It was agreed upon that UKPC should influence the activities of KPIF in their second year of operation and a KPIF Meeting was put into a plan with the leaders tasked to use the following pointers in arranged for it.
Operational Framework Report
For close to four (4) months now, Uganda Key Populations Consortium (UKPC) has been in the process
of developing an Operation Framework that will streamline the operations of the organization. To achieve
this, a consultant was hired to oversee the process and as a result, conducted interviews with selected
organizations that led to the first sharing of the draft on September 10th, 2020 with the UKPC Steering
Committee members where feedback was provided.

Rapid assessment
Rapid assessment on the impact of covid-19 among FSWS, AGYW and women living with HIV & AIDS in Uganda
AWAC worked with her grass root members and other community grass root champions from the main stream of women living with HIV and young people living with HIV to administer the rapid assessment from 30 districts across the country for example, via district coordinators under SWaSHE project and Peer leaders in the community the grass root level.

UCCM Constituency Engagement Meeting
On Thursday, April 20
th 2020, the Uganda Key Populations Consortium (UKPC) held the
Uganda Country Coordinating Mechanism (UCCM) Constituency Engagement Meeting virtually via Zoom and physically at Grand Global Hotel, Kikoni, Kampala.
The meeting aimed to allow constituency members to hear from their UCCM representatives, the new Global Fund C19RM grant, and hear from key stakeholders from government and developing agencies on KP trends in Uganda.
